I was hired by Bulldog Production House to capture photos of the 2023 Stand Up Awards Ceremony for Penn State University. I worked alongside Ken Grau and also assisted in setting up equipment for the broadcast. We coordinated a plan beforehand to make sure we caught every moment on camera.

Senior Photographer & Videographer

As a senior photographer, I was responsible for covering 3-5 assignments each week and reformatting photos (for the printed paper) during print night. Included in these assignments were events like sports, concerts, protests, feature stories, etc. At the conclusion of each event, photographers were tasked with editing the best photos for use in the reporters' articles. Every semester, I would also meet with my editor to review and critique the photos I had taken. It is also the role of the senior photographer to guide the new photographers on staff.
As a videographer, I was in charge of producing at least two videos per week. We had weekly meetings where our team of videographers would each sign up to cover an event or produce a feature story. I was also responsible for producing a new episode of the Wrap Around podcast each week. It was a podcast where we interviewed other Penn State students about topics like current events, Penn State experiences, etc. After each video, I would review the project with my editors before it could be posted.
Broughton Video Production
Video Production Intern
August 2022 - April 2023
As a video production intern, I was in charge of helping produce content for Broughton Video Production. My main task was to edit a completed documentary for the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club ("Outside the Room" with Coach Cael Sanderson in Alaska). It's a film about the Sanderson family's life outside the prestigious wrestling program they've built at Penn State. In addition to my time spent editing, I also helped out with brand photoshoots and creating instructional videos for the online platform, Ocean. In October, I was able to help out on a commercial shoot for the NSIN Propel New York Demo Day in Brooklyn, NY.

I volunteered to capture candid photos of the annual fundraising event for Cars4Cause. It's a car show held to raise funds for charity, where I was able to meet the benefitting families and photograph their interactions with the donors at the show.

I worked as a photographer to capture moments from across the Penn State community. During our weekly meetings, photographers would be assigned to cover events like concerts, intercollegiate sports, etc. I was also responsible for preparing my photos to be used in articles directly after the event. We would then review and critique the photos taken that week during our meetings.

I was hired as a photographer for the PIAA Boys Basketball Championship to capture photos for the school’s Instagram and Twitter accounts. I also spent time with the team leading up to the game, and after they won the championship, to capture their preparation and eventual celebration.

NATAS Mid-Atlantic Emmy AWARD

I was part of a team of four videographers and two editors when we won the award for our video content published during Penn State's THON in 2022. THON is student-run philanthropy organization that holds an annual 46-hour dance marathon to raise money for childhood cancer. We won the award in the category, "College/University Student Production – Arts and Entertainment/Cultural Affairs" for "Penn State THON Coverage 2022".

I worked with a team to cover the protest in response to the Uncensored America event being held on the Penn State campus. I conducted interviews with students at the protest and captured b-roll footage to create a video about the event. We won the award in the Student Excellence in Journalistic Craft Achievement News Videography category for "'Things Were Getting Out of Hand Very [Quickly]' | Students Protest Outside Uncensored America Event," Nick Eickhoff, The Daily Collegian.

At The Daily Collegian, we were tasked with taking several feature photos around campus each week. My "Fall Trees Feature" photo won second place in the Feature Photo category at the Student Keystone Media Awards.

I was the videographer and editor of our "Wrap Around" podcast, alongside two hosts. The "Wrap Around" was a weekly show where we talked to Penn State students about their perspective on current events and topics. Our podcast was awarded honorable mention for 2022 Multimedia Story of the Year: Podcast "We asked Penn State students for their THON Line Dance predictions | Wrap Around Podcast".
